Another great podcast. Hope you keep doing these after the virus madness is over.
ReplyDeleteAll that dark fiber around the US will maybe get lit now. The real problem is called The Last Mile. Areas that don't have the coms infrastructure of a major metropolitan area will see strains on networks and traffic. That, too, will require some upgrades and incentives to go to these markets.

ReplyDelete“Confirmed COVID-19 cases in the U.S. surpassed 100,000 Friday, doubling in just three days as the pandemic accelerates and the U.S. rolls out broader testing measures.
“Confirmed U.S. cases passed 50,000 on Tuesday, up from 5,000 last week.
“At the beginning of the month, there were roughly 100 confirmed cases in the U.S.”
If the above is correct, and if the doubling period continues to be 3 days, then in about 5 weeks the pandemic will have infected everyone in the US (~330 million).
The body count will continue to mount for two weeks after that. Mother’s Day (5/10) is the beginning of week 7.
